How articles are created

Answer the parent’s question before describing the product.
Use specific, practical examples and avoid universal promises.
Prefer authoritative pediatric, hospital, government, or nonprofit sources for health-adjacent topics.
Distinguish research-supported guidance, practical suggestions, and Star Chart Kids product features.
Never invent credentials, expert review, testimonials, family outcomes, or first-hand experience.
Keep calls to action clear, optional, and non-manipulative.
Review dated comparisons and time-sensitive claims before updating their modified date.

Product claims

Descriptions of Star Chart Kids are checked against the working product. We clearly separate general parenting guidance from features available in the app. The app uses parent-controlled rewards and deliberately avoids loot boxes, leaderboards, streak pressure, and taking earned stars away as punishment.

Sources and updates

For health-adjacent topics such as ADHD routines and sleep, we prefer primary or authoritative sources such as pediatric organizations, hospitals, government health services, and established nonprofits. Articles show publication and update dates, and source links appear on the page when they materially support the guidance.

Who writes these guides

These guides are written by Ari, a parent who uses star charts every day with his own children — and the developer who built Star Chart Kids around one rule: no dark patterns. Every system described here is tested at his own kitchen table before it's published, and health-adjacent guidance always defers to the published research cited on each page.
