Who builds Star Chart Kids
Star Chart Kids is built by Arijanit Jashari, a parent who uses star charts every day with his own children and the software developer who wrote the app. He built it first for his own family, as a digital version of the star chart they already used, and then opened it to other families. He also writes the parent guides on this site.
What Star Chart Kids is
Star Chart Kids is a free, parent-controlled chore and routine app for families with children roughly ages 3–12. Children complete tasks, earn stars, and choose cosmetic or parent-approved real-life rewards. The product deliberately avoids ads, loot boxes, leaderboards, streak pressure, and punishment mechanics.
Setting up a family needs a username and a parent passcode. No email or payment is required.
How it is funded
Star Chart Kids is free: every feature, every child, every device. There is no premium tier, no subscription, no ads, no data selling, and no in-app purchases aimed at kids. It is an independent project built to be useful for families and run at low cost. The pricing page explains what is included.
No dark patterns
The app is built around clear expectations and parent-controlled rewards. It deliberately avoids loot boxes, leaderboards, streak pressure, and taking earned stars away as punishment. Parents decide and approve real-life rewards.
